Founders

Graduated from Turkish Naval Academy in 1990. Received his masters degree in “Naval Architecture” from the University of Michigan in 1995. Executed miscellaneous design and production duties as an engineering-duty-officer at Turkish Navy’s Taskizak and Istanbul Naval Shipyards between 1995-2004. From 2004 to 2008, served as “Chief of Hull Design” in MILGEM Corvette Project. Between 2008 and 2010, served his duty as “Naval Architecture Department Head” in Turkish Naval Academy. Retired from Turkish Navy in 2010. Worked as “Special Projects Chief Engineer” between 2010 and 2013 at RMK Marine Inc. Became one of the founder partners of Kuasar Marin Engineering Inc. in 2014. Experienced in ship design, design control, design management, application of systems engineering principles to ship design projects, configuration management, ship construction supervision, hull and hull systems testing and trials, technical management of proposal preparation processes, etc. Highlighted trainings are “Naval Surface Ship Design Program” by NAVSEA & The University of Michigan, “Program Management Know-How Training” by Turkish Minehunting Vessel Consortium, “KILIC Class FPB Hull Design Know-How Training” by Fr. Luerssen Werft, “CAD & CAM & CAE Trainings” by INTERGRAPH A.S.

Bahadir BASKAN

Graduated from Istanbul Technical Univesity’s The Faculty of Naval Architecture and Marine Technology in 1997. In 2000, started working as an engineering-duty-officer in Turkish Navy. Between 2000 and 2004, executed miscellaneous design duties at Turkish Navy’s Istanbul Naval Shipyard. In 2004, received his masters degree in “Naval Architecture” from Yildiz Technical University. After masters education, in 2006 received his MBA degree from Beykent University. From 2004 to 2014, worked at Turkish Navy’s MILGEM/Design Project Office. Played major roles in all naval architectural calculations and structural analyses for the first two ships (TCG HEYBELIADA and TCG BUYUKADA) of MILGEM Project. Resigned from Turkish Navy at the beginning of 2014. Became one of the founder partners of Kuasar Marin Engineering Inc. Experienced in hull hydromechanic calculations, hull outfitting, finite element analysis of hull structures, CFD application in ship resistance prediction, hull and hull systems testing and trials, etc. Highlighted trainings are “Ship Interior Design Know-How Training” by Turkish Minehunting Vessel Consortium, “Production Management Certification Program” by ITU, “Total Quality Management Training” by Istanbul Naval Shipyard, “Structural Analysis with MAESTRO” by DRS Technologies Inc., “CFD Analysis with FINEMARINE” by NUMECA.

Fatih AKCAKOYUNLUOGLU

Graduated from Turkish Naval Academy in 1999. Received his masters degree in “Naval Architecture” from the University of Michigan in 2004. Executed miscellaneous design duties as an engineering-duty-officer at Turkish Navy’s Istanbul Naval Shipyard between 2004-2006. From 2006 to 2014, worked as “Structural Engineer” in Turkish Navy’s MILGEM/Design Project Office. Played major roles in all structural, noise and vibration, acoustics and survivability analyses for the first two ships of MILGEM Project, namely TCG HEYBELIADA ve TCG BUYUKADA. Resigned from Turkish Navy at the beginning of 2014. He is one of the founder partners of Kuasar Marin Engineering Inc. Experienced in the structural, vibrations and survivability analysis of ship and equipment structures, vibro-acoustical analysis, equipment thermal analysis, etc. by advanced engineering techniques, hull acoustics and vibrations measurements, etc. Highlighted trainings are “UNDEX and Shock Know-How Training” by IABG GmbH, “Ship Underwater Acoustics and Noise Prediction KHT” by Müller BBM, “Ship Underwater Noise Measurement KHT” by Turkish Minehunting Vessel Consortium, “Underwater Acoustics Prediction with SEA and FEA, VAOne” by ESI.
